Medal-winning wines from New Horizon Wines

New Horizon Wines is launching a selection of medal-winning wines to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Virginia wine country's Wine Month.

Among the wines being launched are the White Hall Vineyards 2006 Viognier (abv 13%), the Veritas Vineyard and Winery 2006 Petit Verdot (abv 13%), and the Williamsburg Winery 2004 Gabriel Archer Reserve (abv 13%).

Citrus fruit fragrances characterise the Viognier, leading to a smooth balance of honeysuckle and peaches with essences of smoky vanilla. The Petit Verdot has a bouquet of dark fruit, pepper and spice and a full-bodied flavour with layers of blackberry, black cherry, plums and coffee.

The old world-style Gabriel Archer Reserve displays notes of berry fruits and red and dark cherries. It has a well-balanced palate with soft vanilla and cocoa flavours plus soft tannins that give the wine a clean mouthfeel.
