Welsh producer Leslie A Parsons - trading as Parsons Pickles - is the only UK supplier of cockles and mussels pickled in vinegar. The Carmarthenshire-based company won a Wales True Taste award last year for its contribution to sustainable development.
Its bottles of pickled, locally sourced cockles and mussels come in three jar sizes, of which the 155g and 280g sizes are sold in shrink-wrapped trays of 12 while the 2.25-litre portions are sold in packs of four. The group's new buffet range of pickles includes cockles and mussels in larger 1.25kg and 2.25kg sizes. Canned cockles are supplied in trays of 10 x 120g cans.
