Scotland's Speciality Food Show to launch next January

Scotland's Speciality Food Show, run in conjunction with Scotland's Trade Fair, has announced it will launch on 21 January at the SEC in Glasgow.

The three-day show will showcase over 140 suppliers of Scottish food and drink from the country.

It aims to give food buyers and chefs the opportunity to find new producers, with a third of stands featuring new products.

The new Launch Gallery will provide space for start-up producers such as Foal Drinks; Granite North Gin; Greybe Fine Olive Products; Hawkhead Kitchen; Mirrie Dancers; Rora Dairy; Lussa Gin and Rawnchy to showcase their products.

New exhibitors from well-known established brands at the show include Choc Affair, Giacopazzi's wholesale ice cream, Blacks Cheese, Laprig Valley apple juice, Taste of the Trossachs, Smoky Brae and Burren Balsamics.

Drinks exhibitors continue to be popular, with the Gin Bothy, Avva Gin, Ogilivy Spirits, Lilliard Gin, Select Drams and Whisky and Cognac already signed up to attend the show.

The new Taste of Orkney stand will showcase Orkney Distilling, Argo's Bakery/Orkney Bakery, Orkney Creamery, Jolly's of Orkney and the Orkney Roastery.

Seminars will also run throughout the show, featuring talks on social media, how to get good Trip Advisor reviews, how to become digitally-savvy, Brexit and how to use video to promote business.

Scotland's Speciality Food Show director Mark Saunders, said: "2017 was once again a good year for hotels and restaurants in the speciality and tourist trade, especially in areas such as the North Coast 500 route and the Isle of Skye. When producers feel confident it breeds innovation and we have some exciting new products being launched at the show."

Ann Hameda from Brodies Tea and Coffee, added: "Scotland's Speciality Food Show is a great value show; reasonably priced, great pre-show communication and support, and a friendly, sociable event. It is a key show for producers wanting to attract Scottish buyers and being one of the first shows in the New Year it is a good launch pad from which to showcase new products."
