Caterers have no need to worry about how to maintain the temperature of their carefully prepared dishes any longer, thanks a new heated, portable food transporter now available in the UK from Imperial Catering Equipment.
The Cambro Camcart, showcased at Hotelympia earlier this year, can accommodate 720 servings, making it perfect for large volume off-premise and satellite events and locations that demand durability.
The Cambro Camcart UPCH-Series is designed and built by Cambro Manufacturing Company, the US market leader in insulated transport for food. It provides a 45-minute preheat time from room temperature and the gentle, 150°-165°F (65°-74°C) heat will not cook food, but will maintain food moisture. After reaching temperature, caterers can rest assured that in unplugging the unit the temperature will be maintained for up to four hours in transportation. What's more, in opening the door for 30 seconds, the temperature of the unit will recover in just three minutes.
Imperial Catering Equipment's managing director, Mark Poultney, expects the unit to have strong applications. He said: "The Cambro Camcart is perfect for operators who frequently cater for large scale events, such as weddings and conferences. Equally, the unit is ideal for outside caterers who need to transport hot food to different locations; or schools, universities and hospitals who need to provide large capacity off-premise or satellite feeding. No matter the number of people you need to feed or the temperature of the location, there is a model that will surpass your expectations."
The capacity of the Cambro Camcart is tremendous, holding 16 full size 4-inch (10cm) deep pans, equating to 720 servings. While the vertical vents constantly circulate heat from front to back for consistent temperature.
"When you need a hot holding cabinet and a portable insulated transporter, there is no need to compromise as the Cambro Camcart offers unequalled durability and unmatched, consistent performance," added Mark. "The Cambro Camcart is perfect for those looking for a durable and reliable alternative to expensive metal cabinets."
In addition, it is extremely energy efficient and energy star qualified, using less energy than three standard 100-watt light bulbs - substantially less than comparable metal cabinets.
Mobility of the unit is unsurpassed with moulded-in bumpers offering added protection. The unit is made of tough, polyethylene with polyurethane foam insulation to keep heat in while keeping the exterior cool to the touch.
