Bel & The Dragon opens sixth site

Joel Cadbury and Ollie Vigors' Longshot Country Inns has launched a sixth Bel & The Dragon country inn, with a seventh in the pipeline.

The group opened its latest site, the George, in Odiham in Hampshire. House in a Grade-II listed building that retains many of its original features dating back to 1540, the venue will offer British food and an extensive collection of fine wine.

The George, which has been styled by interior designer Nicola Harding, will also offer 10 bedrooms.

Longshot Country Inns partner and group head chef Ronnie Kimbugwe, who previously spent seven years working for Gordon Ramsay, has created the menu for the George, with dishes including sustainable fish pie, and linguini of Devon crab and fresh chilli, parsley and garlic oil. Bel & The Dragon at the George will also offer a rotisserie menu with dishes such as maple glazed breast of Gressingham duck, Savoy cabbage and roasted suckling pig, crispy crackling and spiced apple.

Meanwhile, Longshot Country Inns is also planning a seventh Bel & The Dragon site, a 40-cover floating boat on the Kennet & Avon Canal in November.
