Bleackley takes reins on return to Savoy Grill

Edward Bleackley has returned to London's Savoy Grill after a 10-year absence, this time as head chef.

Bleackley worked at the Savoy Grill as a sous chef between 1988 and 1991, after spending two years at Claridge's.

He takes over in his new role from Alain Allard, who left the Savoy two months ago to work at the British Museum, after a short tenure of a few months when he replaced Simon Scott.

Bleackley joins from Green's Restaurant and Oyster Bar in London, where he had been head chef since August 1999. Before that, he was working for the Delfina Studio Café, Bertorelli's and Restaurants International (Richoux).
