Compass in European expansion
COMPASS Group has confirmed its move into the Netherlands with the acquisition of Eindhoven Catering Services (ECS), as reported exclusively by Caterer last week.
Scandinavian Service Partner (SSP), Compass's European catering division, is paying a total of about £7.5m for the company, though initially it is taking up just 64% of the shares.
ECS had a turnover last year of nearly £19m and has 700 employees. It provides contract and event catering at 140 sites and services 1,000 vending machines.
The company is also rumoured to be close to a deal in Germany.
