Chefs top car accident lists

Chefs are maestros in the kitchen but a liability on the road, according to a recent survey carried out for insurer Churchill Car and Home Insurance.

This showed that chefs are the third most likely professional group to have a car accident, behind only social workers and doctors.

By contrast, farmers and gardeners made fewer claims than members of any other profession.

A spokesman for Churchill laid the blame for the profession's less-than-exemplary record on long hours and stressful jobs.
