Curry awards are hot stuff

With the British people's love of curry a common feature in the newspapers, the Good Curry Guide Awards are bound to curry favour with industry figures keeping an eye on eating habits.

Taking place on 17 May at the Hilton Hotel Park Lane, London, the midday award ceremony will honour 15 restaurants and chefs. Among the awards are: Best New Concept, Best Chef and Best Group of restaurants, along with a number of location-related awards.

More than 500 guests including celebrity chefs and high-profile restaurateurs are due to attend, which will be hosted by Good Curry Guide editor pat Chapman and Sky News presenter Lisa Aziz. Sir Gulam Noon, chairman of ready-made Indian food manufacturer Noon Products, and recent winner of the Asian Business Award for Community Servies in London, will be a speaker.
