Disgraced theatre producer Andrew Fishwick to launch London pub and restaurant

Disgraced theatre producer Andrew Fishwick is to launch a pub and restaurant in Maida Vale, with a former Galvin at Windows chef heading up the kitchen.

Fishwick, who was jailed for tax evasion in 2010, will open the Truscott Arms this spring.

Housed in a Victorian building the venue will be spread over three floors comprising a ground-floor pub and first-floor dining room as well as an additional floor with three private rooms.

The kitchen will be headed up by former Galvin at Windows chef, South African-born Etienne Bruwer, who will create a menu focused on seasonal British ingredients.

The pub will serve bar snacks, which priced from £3, will include venison dry-cured biltong and sausage rolls. Meanwhile in the upstairs dining room a more formal menu will be served, with typical dishes including confit halibut, crushed potatoes, gem lettuce and blood orange vinaigrette; braised lamb belly, pommes purée and tomato aubergine caviar; and rib-eye with bone marrow, fondant potatoes, girolles and bordelaise sauce.

The interior will be developed by Michel Schranz of design consultancy MS-DA featuring original cornices and wooden flooring. The upstairs floor will play host to a series of revolving exhibitions showcasing the work of up and coming artists.

Fishwick was jailed for 20 months for cheating the taxpayer out of £200,000 through a series of dishonest Gift Aid repayment claims.
