Property agent Christie + Co was acting on behalf of Dunedin Pub Company. Dunedin now has just one pub restaurant, the Flotterstone Inn at Milton Bridge on the edge of the Pentland Hills. Private investor Albion Ventures has invested £2.5m in Bridge Inn since the company started backing Dunedin in 2005.
The Bridge Inn, which is in the village of Ratho, has a ‘pop in' bar and restaurant, with a cocktail bar serving the main three-sectioned 75-cover restaurant. It also runs two operates two barges on the canal, which it uses for events.
New owners Graham and Rachel Bucknall, who have lived in Ratho for several years said: "We are working to bring back the high standard of food, service and hospitality for which the Bridge Inn has long been famous."
Stuart Ferguson, director at Christie + Co's Edinburgh Office commented: "It is unusual and rare for such a quality bar/restaurant to become available for sale on the outskirts of Edinburgh. The Bridge Inn comes with a great amount of potential, and we are confident that Graham and Rachel will successfully tap into it."
