The Hospital Caterers Association's (HCA) annual conference takes place next week (21-22 April) at the Grand hotel in Eastbourne, East Sussex.
Lord Hunt, president of the HCA, will give the keynote speech. He will address the issue of how to improve the public image of hospital food and map out the future priorities for hospital caterers.
Other speakers include Mary Dunne, director of nursing at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust, who will ask "Are NHS catering managers competent?"
Carolyn Wheatley, chair of Patients on Intravenous and Naso Gastric Nutrition Therapy, asks "Are patients normal people?"
Lynne Colagiovanni, chair of the National Nurses Nutrition Group, will give a talk on "Practical nutrition for catering managers".
A panel of representatives from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales will discuss if, how and why hospital catering is improving.
