Cube and flake

Beaufort is the name of a new range of icemakers launched to the UK this month by GH England. Machines are made in Italy by Staff. Cubers range in output from 22 to 140 kg per 24 hours and can be adjusted to produce most cube sizes. There is also a range of flakers producing 80-170 kg per day. Units are available air or water cooled with stainless steel exterior and polystyrene interior. Cubers start from £594, while flakers are priced from £1,836.

Counteracts water hardness

The patented soft rubber cups which mould the circular ice on Star icemakers is claimed to reduce problems associated with hard water. The 7-model Spanish-made series, which works on the inverted evaporator principle, ranges in output from 20 to 140kg per 24 hours, with list prices from £679 to £1995.
