Kevin Chandler joins Miller's Collection as executive chef

Miller's Collection, which owns three English country inns, has appointed Kevin Chandler as its new executive chef.

Chandler, 30, trained under Marcus Wareing at Pétrus and Jason Atherton at Maze. He has also worked under Stephen Terry, the Great British Menu finalist who owns the Hardwick gastropub in Abergavenny, Wales.

Chandler's first head chef role was at the Pear Tree Inn, which was awarded National Dining Pub of the Year, when he was 25.

He prides himself on using every part of an animal and his favourite meat is pork, which fits his "nose to tail" philosophy. He is most influenced by Valentine Warner, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall and Mark Hix.

He will now take charge of the kitchens at the Anchor Inn at Lower Froyle in Hampshire, where he is based, the Queen's Arms, East Garston, in Berkshire and the Peat Spade Inn at Longstock near Stockbridge, Hampshire.
