Krebs swaps FSA for Jesus College post
Sir John Krebs has resigned as chairman of the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
He is leaving the organisation he founded four years ago to become principal at Jesus College, Oxford, but will remain at the FSA until April 2005.
Krebs was appointed chairman of the newly-created FSA on 24 January 2000, for an initial term of four years. He was reappointed for a further term in January.
Commenting on his resignation, Prime Minister Tony Blair said: "The FSA is seen throughout the world as a model of openness and independence in managing food safety - that is a very significant legacy."
Health ministers will appoint Krebs's successor over the coming months.
