Malmaison hits SF setbacks
Efforts by the Malmaison hotel group to open a hotel in San Francisco have hit unexplained delays.
Roy Tutty, chief executive of Malmaison's parent company, Wyndham International Europe, was last week still unable to confirm the group's plans to open a 180-bedroom hotel in the city.
In November, Tutty said that he expected to be able to make an announcement about the proposed new hotel in January (Caterer, 11 November, page 7).
Ken McCulloch, the hotelier who founded Malmaison before selling the group in 1998, is also understood to be planning to open a hotel in San Francisco.
