Manager leaves Renaissance Hotels to go it alone in Dorset

PAUL Lewin has left his post as general manager of the Renaissance London Gatwick Hotel to launch his own chain of mid-market hotels.

Lewin had worked for Renaissance Hotels for nine yearsand has run the 256-bedroom Renaissance London Gatwick for the past year.

He has bought the 10-bedroom Rothesay Hotel in Highcliffe, Dorset, and plans to open another hotel this year, followed by a further two or three next year.

Lewin said: "This is something I have always wanted to do and I am certainly looking for new sites." He is also setting up a conference event management company which he will run from the hotel from 9 April.

The Renaissance is seeking a replacement.
