Mirror Image opens London restaurant and bar complex

Mirror Image Restaurants will open a six-storey restaurant and bar complex on 14 September in Covent Garden, London.

The complex, named West Street, will include two restaurants, a 25-seat private dining room, a basement bar and three guest bedrooms, housed in a former Japanese restaurant just off Cambridge Circus.

Owner Christopher Bodker said that renovation had taken just under one year and cost about £2.5m.

Executive chef Rowley Leigh will be duplicating his menu from the group's Kensington Place restaurant and adding an Italian touch for West Street's 110-seat restaurant, where dinner will cost about £55.

Another 50-seat restaurant, under head chef Lawrence Keogh, will serve shellfish, roasts and pizza. Average price here will be £25.

The three guest suites will cost between £250 and £450 a night.

West Street will employ 80 staff.

Mirror Image's other five London restaurants are the Avenue, Circus, Kensington Place, Launceston Place and the Brackenbury.
