‘No comment' on sale report

A Scottish newspaper reported this week that Inverlochy Castle hotel, near Fort William, is for sale.

The Aberdeen daily Press and Journal reported that the hotel's owner, Malaysian businessman King Chong Chai, who bought the property in 1996, had already put his Highland retreat near Inverness up for sale and that he also wanted to sell the hotel.

Hotel managing director Michael Leonard was not available for comment as he is abroad on business, but a hotel spokeswoman described the rumours as "not strictly true" and "the result of a misunderstanding".

She would not say whether the hotel was definitely for sale or not.
