City Wagamama

Wagamama, the chain of Japanese-style noodle bars, has opened a 160-seat branch in Fleet Street, London. It is the second Wagamama in the City after the Moorgate restaurant opened earlier this year, and the 14th in the UK. Other sites, in Islington, London; Bristol; and St Albans, Hertfordshire, are due later in the year.

Novotel for MK

Accor opens its 22nd UK Novotel hotel in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire, on 15 July. The hotel group has invested £13m in the 125-bedroom property. Nearly 50 permanent staff and 16 part-time workers will be overseen by Belgian general manager Frank Reul.

North-east village

De Vere Group opens a Village Hotel & Leisure Club on 10 July six miles from Newcastle upon Tyne city centre and three miles from the Northumberland coast. The group has invested £13m in the 127-bedroom property, and more than £40m in three North-east businesses since 1998.
