Peach poaches Fleet Street pub manager

Caterer Adopted Business Peach Pubs has snapped up John Taylor, general manager at the Punch Tavern, a gastro pub in Fleet Street, London, as its third joint-venture partner.

Taylor, who has been at the Punch Tavern for four years is currently working at The Fishes, Peach's pub in North Hinkley, Oxford.

Peach's property team are now searching for a new site "somewhere between Slough, Southampton and Reading".

Taylor said: "I've achieved an incredible amount in the four fantastic years I've worked in the City, and loved every minute of it, but decided last year that it was time to move out of London and set up my own business with my wife Liz."

Liz Taylor was formerly the general manager of Asia de Cuba restaurant at St Martins Lane hotel, London, and will be working with her husband on the new site.

Hamish Stoddart, co-founder of Peach Pubs, said: "John has a really strong vision for what his new business is going to be like, and this, coupled with the amazing experience he's had of running exceptional award-winning pubs all adds to our excitement at having him on board."
