KEVIN BRESLIN has joined the Windows restaurant at the Carlton George hotel in Glasgow as head chef. He was head chef at the Westerwood hotel in Cumbernauld, Lanarkshire.

DAVID STATHAM, chairman of food and general health at the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, has been appointed director of food enforcement and food standards for the Food Standards Agency.

ROBERT EDMUNDS has been recruited as head chef for the Horizon hotel in Ayr, Ayrshire. He was chef-manager at Northpark House hotel, also in Ayr.

BRIAN MOORE has taken over as general manager of the Carlton hotel in Auckland, New Zealand. He was general manager of the Quality Hotel Logan Park, also in Auckland.

BERNARD VENTCATACHELEM has been appointed food and beverage manager at the Copthorne Birmingham hotel. He was a deputy general manager at the Ettington

Chase Conference Centre in Stratford-upon-Avon. GERARD LEE has also joined the Copthorne Birmingham hotel as head chef. He was sous chef at the Sonesta Beach Resort in Bermuda.

MARK JACKSON has taken over as general manager of Le Méridien Queen's hotel, Leeds. He was general manager at the Inter-Continental Forum Fairlane hotel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

MILES POOLEY has been appointed general manager of 47 Park Street hotel in Mayfair, London. He was previously general manager of the city's Oriental Club.

FREDERIC BOULIN has transferred from the Athenaeum Inter-Continental in Athens, Greece, to the Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong as food and beverage director.

LOUISE CAREY is joining contract caterer Catering Alliance as regional director for London, the Home Counties and South-east England. She was general manager at Summit Catering.

LISA BURROUGHS has become a master chef apprentice at the Fountain restaurant at Lovelady Shield Country House hotel in Alston, Cumbria. She was head chef at Nent Hall Country House hotel, also in Alston.

MARCELO VAZQUEZ has been appointed vice-president for the Americas at consortium Summit Hotels and Resorts. He was president of Leading Hotels of the World.

ADRIAN SIMPSON has left Inter-Continental Hotels and Resorts, where he was vice-president of marketing for Europe. He is planning to launch his own hotel consultancy firm in the autumn.

JUSTIN HUBER has joined Fuller's as operations manager of its hotels and English inns. He was head of motorway Travelodges at Granada.
