MICHAEL ACTON has become general manager of the Nico Central restaurant in Manchester's Midland Crowne Plaza hotel. He was deputy general manager at Etrop Grange hotel at Manchester airport. Both Etrop Grange and Nico Central are owned by the Regal Hotel Group.

Thanos Hotels has named JEAN-STEPHANE GRASSET as general manager of its five-star hotel, the Annabelle, in Paphos, Cyprus. He was hotel manager at the Westin Banyan Tree in Bangkok, Thailand.

Food and beverage manager JONATHAN BAILEY has transferred to the Le Méridien Excelsior, Heathrow, from the Le Méridien Victoria and Albert, Manchester.

GARETH GWYNNE-DAVIES is the new executive chef at Teasers Café Bar in Manchester. He joins from Jersey's Blue Fish Café, where he worked as head chef.

GARRY LUKE has left his role as food and beverage manager at Sunderland Greyhound Stadium to become conference and banqueting manager at De Vere Slaley Hall in Hexham, Newcastle upon Tyne.

Slaley Hall also has a new reception and concierge manager in JOANNE LUCKING, whose last role was as head receptionist at Stapleford Park, Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

DIARMUID BUCKLEY has become conference and incentive sales manager at Kempinksi Hotels & Resorts. Based in London, his remit is to drive group bookings for Kempinski's 30 properties worldwide. He was banqueting manager at the Berkeley hotel in London.

ARLENE WILSON has moved into the role of regional manager for Brudolff Hotels, where she is responsible for the group's Shetland and Lerwick hotels in Shetland and the Craighaar hotel in Aberdeen, which it acquired recently from Big Beat. Wilson has been general manager at the Shetland hotel for the past five years.

The Swallow Royal Hotel Bristol has a new name - the Bristol Marriott Royal hotel - and a new general manager in JANE GOODYER, who joins from the Marriott St Pierre Hotel & Country Club in Chepstow, Monmouthshire. The hotel was one of 27 Swallow properties acquired by Whitbread earlier this year.

DAVID PAGE, chairman of PizzaExpress, has taken over control of the company's property operations following the resignation of property director Paul Gilligan.

BERTRAND DIJOUX is the new general manager at Whitbread Hotel Company's The Brewery, in Chiswell Street, London. He previously worked at the London Heathrow Marriott as food and beverage manager.

British-born DANNY HUGHES, formerly vice-president of Hilton sales, the Americas, has been promoted to vice-president of operations for Hilton International's eight Caribbean properties.
