Punch appoints finance director of Spirit Group
Pub company Punch Taverns has made Roddy Murray finance director of Spirit Group, the managed side of its business, which the group is planning to demerge later this year.
Murray will join on 23 May from the BSS Group where he was group finance director from 2006 until its acquisition in December 2010. He was previously finance director of Moss Bros from 2002 to 2005 and finance director of Mackay Stores from 1998 to 2002. Between 1989 and 1998 he held a number of senior positions with Guinness, United Distillers and Diageo. Prior to that, Roddy worked at British Airways and Price Waterhouse.
Meanwhile Steve Dando has been appointed finance director of Punch Taverns with immediate effect, having served as acting finance director.
Ian Dyson, chief executive officer, said: "I am delighted to announce Roddy's appointment. He brings with him extensive strategic, operational and financial experience, having worked in leading businesses across a range of sectors. Roddy has a strong track record of achievement which will further strengthen the team that will lead Spirit following its demerger from Punch."
