Robbers tie up hotel manager at knifepoint

The deputy manager of a hotel was held at knifepoint and tied up by two men who escaped with several hundred pounds.

The attack happened last week at the Exeter Arms hotel in Middlemoor, Exeter, Devon.

One of the men asked for a room at the hotel but was refused. He then asked to use the cigarette machine and, once inside the building, was joined by a second man.

They produced a knife, tied the employee's arms and legs, and tried to open a time-locked safe, before running off with cash from a desk drawer.

No one at the hotel was available for comment.
