Victorian style music hall and restaurant set for Farringdon

Music bar and restaurant the Piano Works is to open next month in a warehouse in London's Farringdon.

The Victorian music hall concept devised by restaurateur Alan Lorrimer will include two live pianists and accompanying musicians who will play songs requested by the audience.

Piano Works will be run by cocktail maker and operations director Tristan Moffat, while food will be prepared by head chef Fedja Stanic.

Diners in the 400-capacity venue will be entertained by musicians led by musical director Andy Johnson.

Lorrimer said: "Singing is the primary form of our earliest human musical activity. It takes something incredibly intimate and personal, a sound or lyric that begins inside you and is then safely shared with a group of strangers that amazingly returns to you as harmony."
