The Bay and Ondine join forces to help The Fishermen's Mission
The Bay Fish & Chips in Stonehaven is joining forces with Edinburgh restaurant Ondine to host a charity lunch, with all proceeds going to The Fisherman's Mission.
The lunch on 22 May will see The Bay's owner Calum Richardson join Roy Brett, chef-proprietor of Ondine; Gary Welch from Welch Fishmongers; and Mel Sinclair, an Orkney-born private chef working in Cannes, to create a lunch to remember.
The lunch will raise money for the fishing communities across Scotland who continuously risk their lives to ensure the freshest catch. Diners will be able to sample fish and chips, a variety of oysters and Ondine restaurant classics with all supplies from Welch Fishmongers.
"I want to support my friend Roy in his efforts to recognise the sacrifice our fishing communities make to put fish on our plates," said Richardson.
"When the risk of losing a loved one is just part of everyday life and the worst does actually happen, who wouldn't want to help?" he added.
"We know exactly where our fish comes from at Ondine," explained Brett.
"Sometimes we can all forget what fishermen have to go through to get it here."
