Barry Nightingale is to step down as chief financial officer of The Restaurant Group and leave the company with immediate effect.
In an announcement this morning the company, which runs 488 restaurants across the country under brands including Frankie & Benny’s, Chiquito, Coast to Coast and Brunning & Price, said it had started searching for a replacement and would update the market “in due course”.
Debbie Hewitt, chairman, said: “On behalf of the board, I would like to thank Barry for the valuable contribution that he has made over the past year, as we began the company’s turnaround process, which continues to progress well. We wish him all the best for the future.”
Earlier this year, TRG described trade as “challenging” and said it needed to make substantial price and proposition changes, having already started price and menu trials across Frankie & Benny’s.
The changes come under new chief executive Andy McCue, who replaced Danny Breithaupt last year.
