£81m PFI hospital redevelopment contract to include catering

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) in London is looking for bidders for an £81m PFI contract for the redevelopment of its Stanmore site, which includes a sizeable catering operation.

An advertisement has been placed in the Official Journal of the European Union, inviting expressions of interest from bidders.

The winning bidder will be responsible not only for the construction of the facility, which is to offer 124 adult and child beds, but also site-wide catering facilities.

An open day designed to provide bidders with further information about the project will be held at the RNOH on 10 February.

It is hoped a preferred bidder will be named by January 2013, with construction starting later that year.
