Amadeus appoints Robert Housden as operations director
Venue and event caterer Amadeus has appointed Robert Housden as its new operations director.
Housden joins the firm from Guoman and Thistle Hotels where he was the food and beverage director, responsible for a portfolio of business worth £80m.
Housden's appointment comes after Kevin Watson joined as managing director. A new food & beverage director and an operations manager for external events have also joined the company.
"Robert brings a wealth of experience to the role," said Watson. "He has worked for a number of leading organisations in a range of senior roles from sales and marketing to logistics, making him the perfect candidate for this role.
"We are confident Robert, along with the rest of the senior management team, will help further grow the Amadeus brand and take our award winning business to the next level."
Housden has over 15 years' experience of contract catering, retail catering and hotels including roles within Marriot Hotels UK and Sodexo.
He said: "I am delighted to be joining Amadeus. Amadeus has enjoyed a fantastic year, catering at the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics and winning the FSM Business and Industry award, and I am looking forward to being part of such a great business.
"In my new role I will lead and support the delivery of the Amadeus vision of customer and client excellence, consistent operational delivery and outstanding financial results; and have a lot of fun in doing so."
