Compass confirms £7m Henley Royal Regatta contract extension
Compass Group has confirmed a five-year extension to its Henley Royal Regatta hospitality contract in the Steward's Enclosure, worth £7m.
The news comes following speculation that the sports, leisure and hospitality arm of the world's largest caterer would keep this element of the Regatta business amid the announcement that Sodexo had picked up a £4m deal to operate the catering at both Fawley Meadows and Temple Island.
Both these venues were previously managed by Compass Group, which has delivered services to the Henley Royal Regatta for the past 15 years.
Andrew Latham, business director for sport, leisure and hospitality at Compass Group, described the contract retention as an honour, adding: "We are really looking forward to continuing to evolve the food and experience we provide, building on our success at the Regatta and the excellent feedback we've had from visitors over so many years."
Mike Sweeney, Regatta chairman also commented: "I am delighted that Compass has retained the contract to provide catering services in the Stewards' Enclosure at Henley Royal Regatta.
"Compass has delivered excellent quality and high levels of service over the past 15 years and I am very pleased that our relationship will be continuing."
