Pickled Walnut eyes expansion after investment
Pickled Walnut, the Birkenhead-based catering and events company, has attracted new investment in a deal that it hopes will deliver nationwide growth for the business.
The company said the investment, which was not disclosed, would see the creation of an "all-encompassing hospitality group" including catering, new leisure contracts and venue and event management. The new business also has plans to acquire its own venues.
The new business will be headed by existing director Jamie Anderson alongside new managing director and investor Jamie Lyne, a Yorkshire-based leisure entrepreneur.
Anderson, who continues responsibility for business development and branding, said: "We have traded Pickled Walnut for seven years now and felt it was time to take on board investment and further expertise to take Pickled Walnut to its full potential."
Lyne added: "We are really excited about investing into Pickled Walnut and working to build this exciting, independent businesses into a nationwide player. Pickled Walnut is an attractive proposition because of its quality, brand recognition and reputation in the marketplace."
The deal also sees other new directors appointed to the board in the shape of Mark Seymour Mead, who is managing director of food business Stewed!, who will act as logistics director.
The other directors in the company are Mark Kershaw, who retains the operations director remit and Simon Ryan, a business and growth expert in the hotel and leisure sector, as finance director.
The company's said it expected to create 50 jobs within 12 months as it expanded.
