Roast-and-ground coffee expands ethical Fair Instant line

The Fair Instant brand from FFI will now develop from soluble coffee to roast-and-ground, with the launch of the Fair Ground range.

This will offer one coffee for use in any freshbrew machine, and another developed for espresso use.

The Fair Instant scheme has contributed £170,000 to Save the Children, and Fair Ground products will add another 25p per pack to supporting education and child-care projects in coffee-growing countries, such as providing training for teachers, uniforms, gym kits and lunches as well as helping to set-up mobile libraries and play areas.

FFI's marketing director Austin Sugarman says that he hopes the new launch will arouse interest in the good-cause work among restaurants and coffee shops.
