Sodexo scoops £1.5m SportScotland catering contract
Sodexo has won a £1.5m catering and hospitality contract at SportScotland‘s national sports training centres in Inverclyde and Cumbrae.
The three-year deal, which also includes vending, cleaning and bar management, sees Sodexo providing services for all of the centre's users, which range from elite athletes and college students to school children and the local community.
Sodexo will provide a full catering and event service at the Inverclyde centre just outside the Ayrshire town of Largs. Breakfast, lunch and an evening meal will be provided for all residents at the centre and Sodexo will also manage the retail outlet, vending and hospitality functions.
SportScotland's Cumbrae centre is a water sports and instructor training facility where Sodexo will provide catering, cleaning and vending, and will soon take on bar management to complete the service provision.
Sodexo general manager Helen Cook runs the operation with 15 members of staff at Inverclyde and a further six employees at Cumbrae, which increases in the summer months and at busy event times.
Susan Pike, senior account manager for Sodexo Scotland, said: "SportScotland wanted a partner who could understand the different customer needs, modernise the services and provide quality hospitality and we are delighted that we fit the bill."
