Swithenbank Food opens London depot

Swithenbank Foods, part of wholesale distributor 3663, has opened its first dedicated depot supplying fresh produce to London and the surrounding area.

Based in Enfield, the company believes the new site will save around 500,000 food miles a year as produce previously had to go to its base in Bradford, West Yorkshire.

The 20,000sq ft site has a ripening room, which should enable hotel conference and banqueting operations in the capital to get hold of ripe fruit to order.
