Accor reveals new design for ‘real living spaces' in Ibis and Ibis Budget hotels

Hotel group Accor has unveiled the new common areas of its Ibis and Ibis Budget properties, as part of the company's strategy to revitalise its economy brand.

The modernisation plan, announced last September, sees the design of the common areas transformed in order to create "real living spaces" within the hotels to reflect consumer expectations.

Consumers now demand modern, contemporary stylish brands that are also socially and environmentally responsible, Accord said, and in order to attract footfall brands must provide a customer experience that meets these expectations, including in the economy market.

The redesigned common areas of Ibis and Ibis Budget hotels aim to focus on comfort and innovation.

"This new economy hotel concept meets the expectations for modernity and friendliness of both our customers and our franchisees, who, like us, are keen to offer high-quality establishments that anticipate the hotel trends of the future," explained Denis Hennequin, Accor's chairman and chief executive.

The new design will be rolled out globally, beginning with France, Germany, the UK, Spain, the Netherlands and Switzerland before the concept will be deployed in Latin America and Asia, where it will be adapted to suit local markets.
