Aurora Hotel Collection launches Cairn Lodge
The opening of the £3m, 10-bedroom luxury Cairn Lodge & Hotel in Auchterarder, Perthshire, marks the latest addition to the Aurora Hotel Collection, founded by former Acorn Award winner and chief executive Steven McLeod.
Situated close to Gleneagles, the Victorian property has undergone a major refurbishment and reinvention to create a hotel with a contemporary interior by Andrew Martin. It includes the Grill Room restaurant, featuring a Josper Grill, and also incorporates a luxury five-bedroom lodge house.
"The Cairn will add a new dimension to the accommodation and dining available in the area and is a great addition to the Aurora Hotel Collection," said McLeod, who launched the company in 2005. Aurora now has six luxury properties throughout Scotland, including Airth Castle Hotel and Glenbervie House.
"There is a market for hotels that offer a quality product and great service at an affordable price and this is why we are continuing to hold our own and build our business in these very challenging times."
The Cairn is the first of several ventures to be launched by Aurora for a total investment of £12m during the next 18 months, with Hotel Colessio opening in Stirling at the end of 2012 and the relaunch of the Kenmore Hotel, near Aberfeldy, following a major upgrade.
