Bannatyne's Charlton House spa hotel in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, has appointed Phil Brown as its new general manager. Brown, 29, has 14 years' experience in the hospitality industry, holding a range of management positions in Bristol, Brighton and Harrogate, North Yorkshire. He was also a member of the openings team at Malmaison and Hotel du Vin, and played a key role in the opening of nine hotels over a two-year period.
He joins Bannatyne's after working as a consultant to hospitality groups on brand amalgamation projects and hotel openings. Bannatyne's acquired Charlton House earlier this year and has since embarked on a six-figure programme of refurbishments and upgrades to the hotel and its facilities.
