Châteaux and Hôtels Collection to include UK properties for first time
The Châteaux and Hôtels Collection is to include UK-based hotels and restaurants in its portfolio for the first time.
The names of the first UK properties are expected to announced in the next six months.
Member hotels will benefit from being listed on the collection's website, which allows online booking, with properties listed under such categories as "Good deals for family breaks", "New to the collection", "Business travel" and "Weekend ideas".
The hotel and restaurant group, which has French chef Alain Ducasse as a figurehead, currently features 520 hotels and restaurants across 16 countries, although most of its properties are found in Italy and France. Members, which each have on average of 29 bedrooms, are selected for their "authenticity, personality, and charm".
Founded in 1975, the collection seeks to work against standardisation and champion independent businesses, with the aim of developing chefs who use locally-sourced, regional products.
