Chester Grosvenor scoops Pride of Britain top hotel award
The Chester Grosvenor & Spa has been named Pride of Britain Hotel of the Year 2011.
The award was presented to Jonathan Slater (pictured), managing director of the five-star, 80-bedroom hotel, following the annual general meeting of the 38-member consortium, held at the Goring hotel in London.
Using information gathered from Pride of Britain's mystery guest visits, the award was presented for outstanding hospitality. Runners-up were Northcote in Langho, Lancashire, and the Nare in Veryan, Cornwall.
Slater said he was proud and delighted that the Chester Grosvenor had won the award. "This is, of course, a reflection on every single member of the team who focuses on ensuring that our guests receive faultless service at all times, that not only meets but hopefully exceeds their expectations."
Pride of Britain has reported a 28% rise in the value of online and telephone reservations during the first quarter of 2011, compared with the same period last year.
