Largest Hampton by Hilton to open in Birmingham
The largest Hampton by Hilton outside the USA is set to open in Birmingham on 1 May.
Situated in the former derelict Cumberland House in Broad Street, the 285-bedroom budget hotel is to be operated by Sanguine Hospitality. It will offer free Wi-Fi throughout and complimentary hot and cold breakfast.
General manager Elaine Grahame said: "We want to create not only one of the world's largest Hampton by Hilton locations, but also one of the best. Our guests should come to know us for high-quality accommodation, exemplary service and a great location, whatever the purpose of their stay.
The £30m transformation of Cumberland House has been ongoing since 2010 and follows a government-backed Business Premises Renovation Allowance (BPRA) scheme founded by Downing Corporate Finance and Office Villages.
Last week the opening of the 120-bedroom Hampton by Hilton London Croydon marked the launch of the first Hampton by Hilton within the Greater London area and the ninth in the UK. Besides the Birmingham hotel, future Hampton by Hilton openings include those at St George's Park in Burton-on-Trent at the new Football Association training centre (summer 2012), and at London Waterloo at the end of 2013.
