Local hotelier buys Jacobean hotel near York

Local hotelier Matthew Davison is the new owner of the Jacobean Lodge on the outskirts of York.

The two-storey country lodge hotel offers eight en-suite bedrooms, three bar areas to seat 65 guests, a 50-seat dining area with French doors onto the gardens, and three-bedroom owners' accommodation.

Outside, the hotel has a patio area with a brick barbeque and parking for 24 cars.

The Leeds office of Christie + Co sold the freehold off a guide price of £695,000. Sister company Christie Finance arranging the funding for Davison, who plans to focus on the wedding trade.
