One Square restaurant opens at Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand hotel
Edinburgh's Sheraton Grand hotel is launching a new restaurant this month, with the opening of One Square.
Opening on 19 April, the 100-seat restaurant will be led by executive chef Malcolm Webster, who previously worked at the Mandarin Oriental hotel in London, offering a modern British take on the classic grand café. The restaurant manager is Gavin Purdie.
Overlooking Edinburgh Castle, One Square will have a focus on seasonal produce sourced from within the UK, with the menu featuring a range of British dishes such as steak & kidney pie and Cullen skink alongside Scottish-inspired classics, including slow-cooked beef cheek in Leith claret and Macsween haggis with fried duck eggs.
Open from early in the morning until late at night, One Square will feature bright and open interiors reflecting a relaxed environment. Meanwhile the bar will feature marble combined with contemporary touches offering more than 40 different varieties of gin.
In addition to the main restaurant and bar, One Square will feature the Dine at The Pass table and Kitchen Table, a private room for six guests located right next to the kitchen.
