Sporting events drive London revpar and ADR in October
The Rugby World Cup helped boost revpar and average daily rate (ADR) in London during October, according to preliminary figures published by STR Global.
Revpar increased by 12.3% to £139.79, while ADR increased by 11.9% to £159.29.
Occupancy levels remained high at 87.8%, with a slight increase of 0.4%.
The increase in room supply of 1.8% was outstripped by the 2.2% increase in demand year-on-year. Supply growth in London had outpaced demand for both September and August.
According to analyst STR Global, performance in London hotels during October was driven mainly by the Rugby World Cup and two National Football League games.
In addition, Helitech International and TabExpo were both held in the city.
STR Global will release its full October results later this month.
