Von Essen appoints new GM for Elms hotel and spa

Martin Newbould has been appointed general manager of Von Essen's the Elms hotel & spa, Abberley, Worcestershire.

He joins Von Essen from his previous position as operations manager at the Hoxton Hotel, London. Before that, he was hotel manager of the capital's May Fair hotel.

Newbould will be responsible for developing the 23-bedroom hotel within Von Essen's Luxury Family brand and growing the conference and wedding market for 2011.

Justin Hickman, regional operations manager, Von Essen hotels, said he is delighted with Newbould's appointment. "I am confident that he will develop the business in Worcestershire and re-establish the hotel as a premium wedding venue in the area".

The Elms Hotel & Spa is set in a Queen Anne mansion, within 10 acres of parkland.
