Von Essen names Hotel Verta general manager
Von Essen has announced the appointment of Andrew Thomason as the general manger of the soon-to-be-launched Hotel Verta.
Due to open at The London Heliport in Battersea in July 2010, the 70-bedroom Hotel Verta is Von Essen's first hotel in the capital and the second hotel in its Metropolitan set.
Thomason, who is currently general manager at Von Essen's Lower Slaughter Manor in Gloucestershire, will take up his new role in April. He has more than 30 years experience in the hotel industry and has previously worked as resident manager at Le Manoir aux Quat' Saisons and was involved in the design and development of the Forbury Hotel in Reading prior to its purchase by Von Essen.
"Having known Andrew for a number of years I am very confident that he is the perfect candidate for the new position," said Nick Romano, chief executive of Von Essen.
"His previous experience at Lower Slaughter Manor will stand him in good stead for his new role of general manager at Verta and his wealth of experience in the hotel and hospitality industry and passion for excellent service will ensure that the Hotel Verta is on course to become one of London's leading hotel destinations.'
