Milanese restaurant Langosteria confirmed for Old War Office

Milanese restaurant Langosteria is the latest opening announced for the Old War Office (OWO) in London.

The Grade II*-listed Whitehall building, formerly used by Sir Winston Churchill, will be home to nine restaurants and three bars, as well as London's first Raffles hotel, when it opens to the public in late summer.

Other restaurants confirmed for the site include French restaurant Café Lapérouse, Milanese restaurant Paper Moon and a rooftop site from chef Endo Kazutoshi and Burger & Lobster founder Misha Zelman. Chef Mauro Colagreco will also open three restaurants as part of Raffles London at the OWO.

Langosteria London outpost will offer many of the original dishes and features as the original restaurant in via Savona, in the heart of Milan's Design District, which opened in March 2007.

Founder Enrico Buonocore (pictured) said: "I am delighted to announce the launch of our first Langosteria in the UK. It has been a long-term dream of mine to have a restaurant in London and the OWO is the perfect venue for us to make our debut.

"Each project we undertake is totally unique and Langosteria at the OWO will offer an unrivalled seafood experience – we're confident it will be one of the best in the capital."

Madani Sow, chief executive of development management company WDS (pictured), added: "We are very excited to bring the inaugural UK opening of Langosteria to the OWO. Enrico and his team are from a rare breed of visionary restaurateurs who excel in designing vibrant and exciting venues which put the guest at the centre of the dining experience. The restaurant's cult following and reputation among the global fashion and design community will make this a perfect fit with the other world-class chefs and restaurateurs at the OWO."
