The latest hospitality venues to open their doors across the UK in March 2024

Spring has us singing with warmer weather and more friendly faces on the street – and new restaurants, pubs, bars and hotels are feeling the new season's spirit by opening their doors across the UK.

From the best new restaurants to the buzziest new hotels, there are plenty of new openings happening this month.

Uba, Shoreditch, London

The London-based team behind Sucre in Soho and Clap in Knightsbridge are set to launch their first pan-Asian restaurant, Uba, in Shoreditch.

The 275 sq m site, part of the Hart Shoreditch hotel, features a 105-cover restaurant with a private dining room seating 12. Design studio Verhaal created the interiors, which feature swathes of red and gold, lava stone tabletops, antique mirrors and Asian ceramics.

Executive chef Paul Greening, who was previously with Aqua Restaurant Group, has devised a sharing plates menu that grew out of his extensive travels in Asia. Uba will also host regular DJ sets.

Yasmin, Soho, London

Rooftop restaurant, bar and terrace Yasmin is set to open in London's Soho next month. It marks executive chef Tom Cenci's second project at 1 Warwick, following the launch of its ground-floor restaurant, Nessa, last year.

Cloth, Farringdon, London

Wine importers Joe Haynes and Ben Butterworth have teamed up with chef Tom Hurst to open restaurant and wine bar Cloth in London's Farringdon. Cloth resides in a Grade II-listed building beneath the former home of poet John Betjeman.

Little Caesars Pizza, Greenford, London

Little Caesars Pizza has opened a restaurant in London's Greenford, offering eat-in and takeaway. The brand operates in 28 countries and territories and has plans for continued expansion across the UK through franchisees. Pizzas start from £5.

Nespresso Bar, Liverpool Street, London

Nespresso UK has opened its first on-the-go coffee shop in London's Liverpool Street. Nespresso Bar offers five different blends from its commercial-scale Agulia 440 machine, which can produce up to 400 coffees per hour.

Art'otel London Hoxton

London is set to receive its second Art'otel. The 357-bedroom hotel in Hoxton will include an events space for 300 guests on the 24th floor, a destination restaurant on the 25th floor, and a skyline gym on the 26th floor. Signature artist D*Face will display several works across the property.

Boo, Dudley

Smash burger specialist Boo is set to open a 2,000 sq ft restaurant near Dudley. The 60-cover site will also offer a selection of monthly seasonal picks as well as an extensive menu of freshly ground coffee.

Apple Butter, Oxford Circus, London

The team behind brunch café Apple Butter, Faycal Abdel Khalek and brothers Saleh and Mohammad, have launched their second site in London's Oxford Circus, four years after their first site in Seven Dials.

The latest Apple Butter has broadened its scope to include an all-day menu for 75 covers, with lunch dishes such as salmon wasabi black rice with crispy crab, edamame beans, cucumber and avocado; small plates such as spicy shrimp lollipop and wagyu beef hummus; and a brunch offering of truffle scrambled egg and shakshuka.

In terms of design, the restaurant has a centrepiece apple tree installation, what is describes as Instagrammable interiors and exposed brick accents.

Josephine, Kensington, London

Claude and Lucy Bosi have opened Lyonnaise bistro Josephine in London's Kensington.

The 2,633 sq ft, 76-cover restaurant offers a variety of wines – including Josephine's own label – to pair with a selection of French family-style dishes.

La Vista, Loch Lomond

Cameron House in Loch Lomond has transformed the Boat House into 138-cover Italian restaurant La Vista. Head chef Mark Pawsey has created a menu celebrating artisanal Italian produce.

Farkhod Najmetdinov of brunch café Bobo & Wild has opened Neapolitan pizza parlour Motherdough in London's Wapping. The 1,087 sq ft restaurant serves a signature dough that is prepared daily by their in-house pizzaiolo.

Mexican-Japanese restaurant Los Mochis in Notting Hill is set to launch Los Mochis London City. The flagship 14,000 sq ft space on a ninth floor rooftop includes an outdoor terrace with a 3am licence. The kitchen will be led by ex-Nobu executive chef Leonard Tanyag.

Condesa, Bristol

Kieran and Imogen Waite behind Bristol-based restaurant Season + Tate have launched Mexican restaurant Condesa. Head chef Sean Martin offers a menu showcasing modern and classical flavours. The diner is also home to a hidden Mezcal den.

Prelude, Covent Garden, London

The team behind cocktail bars Oriole, Nightjar and Bar Swift has opened three-month pop-up Prelude in London's Covent Garden. Prelude offers an à la carte menu inspired by Nikkei and Argentine-Italian flavours.

Agora, Borough Market, London

David Carter of Manteca in London's Shoreditch is set to open Agora in Borough Market. Inspired by the lively outdoor markets in Athens, Agora (meaning ‘market' in Greek) will be an open-kitchen concept that dishes out Greek fare, from wood-fired flatbreads with spinach tzatziki and crispy garlic to a whole animal roast on weekends using British pork, lamb, chicken and more.

The two-metre rotisserie ‘souvla' will be the star of the kitchen, and guests will be able to sit and watch the chefs in action or relax by the wooden cocktail bar with Agora's signature green chilli margarita in hand.

Agora will open all day from noon for lunch or grab and go.

The Black Horse, West Sussex

Historic Sussex Hotels is opening the Black Horse, a seven-bedroom hotel and pub within a restored 17th-century, Grade-II listed property in Climping, West Sussex. The property will serve up traditional pub fare and a "gloriously pink" room for private events.

Café Britaly, Peckham, London

The ‘Britalian'-themed Café Britaly is Richard Crampton-Platt and chef Alex Purdie's first venture together. The 40-cover eatery in Peckham's Rye Lane aims to reimagine classic Italian plates with a British twist, while creating nostalgia for Italian-run British cafés.

Hampton Lovell & Co will open its third concept, Thirty7, on Bedford Street in London's Covent Garden. The 45-cover restaurant and basement cocktail bar will celebrate New York's dining scene. Head chef Grant Clark will blend French, British and American styles.

Maya, Manchester

Scottie Bhattarai, the chief executive of London's Isabel Mayfair, has headed to Manchester to open restaurant Maya. The three-storey property, next door to the Leven hotel, has a brasserie and main dining room where head chef Gabe Lea has created a seasonal menu.

Boheme, Chester

An open kitchen, wraparound bar and wine cellar are some of the features at chef Andi Lowe-Smith and Ben Iles' joint venture, Boheme, now open in Chester. The all-day restaurant offers a modern European menu using local produce and experimental cocktails.

Chiave, Shoreditch, London

Chiave is Selin Duren and Cem Ozden's first nightlife project in London. The two-storey cocktail bar will feature a lounge with drinks and small bites to pair, while the basement transforms into a 30-person dancefloor with a custom sound system and DJ booth.

Mason & Fifth, Primrose Hill, London

Boutique guesthouse group Mason & Fifth, which opened its first co-living site in London's Bermondsey in 2020, is set to open its second property in Primrose Hill.

The new site is spread across four 1860s, Grade II-listed Regency townhouses, which have been refurbished by architects Red Deer. The guesthouse promises to offer a home-from-home experience with 61 studio apartments, a garden with a yoga pavilion, lounge and living spaces, and a communal breakfast kitchen serving granola, fruit juices and yogurt.

Five types of studio apartments are available, ranging from ‘classic' to ‘mezzanine'. Rooms come with a kitchen, appliances, crockery, glassware and cooking utensils, as well as a waterfall shower and smart TV.

Creative Restaurant Group has launched Japanese grill and sushi bar Niju. Culinary director Endo Kazutoshi is joined by head chef Chris Golding and head sushi chef David Bury to offer Japanese home-style cooking.

Origin Coffee, Edinburgh

B-Corp specialty coffee roaster Origin Coffee is set to open its first Scottish site in Edinburgh on the edge of the city's Old Town. The café has been designed by Megan Sadler and will showcase an industrial aesthetic with a bronze effect bar, stainless-steel worktops and oak furniture.

Cricket-meat company Yum Bug has opened its first permanent edible insect restaurant following a sold-out pop-up last year. The 30-cover small-plates restaurant is led by head chef Oliver Dollard.

Henry's Smokehouse, Kirkham, Lancashire

Henry's Smokehouse, a family-run pub and grill offering Louisiana and Texas-inspired food in Kirkham, Lancashire, has opened.

Taking over from the former Black Valais site, the American barbecue concept has been brought to life by the team behind the Ship in Elswick, Preston, with support from chef Adam James Bennett, who worked under Marco Pierre White.

The new 15,000 sq ft restaurant can hold up to 100 people, with plans in place to launch a coffee shop for the summer months.

Signature dishes and sharing platters revolve around brisket, which is sourced from local butchers, dry-aged for seven to 10 days and smoked for nine hours. A Sunday roast is also available.

The Market Inn, Salisbury

The Chickpea Group has acquired the Market Inn in Salisbury and is set to relaunch the pub, which dates back to 1904. It will have 60 covers inside and a further 80 outside and serve a menu of "classic pub bangers" overseen by executive chef Harry Russell.
