£2.5m refurb at Orchid Group restaurants

Oriental restaurant chain Orchid Group has announced a £2.5m refurbishment programme for its six London eateries.

The group will invest £1.5m to reopen its flagship restaurant, the Pacific Oriental, in new premises in the City of London by next March, while Sri Siam City and Sri Thai Solo will be renamed Hokkien Chan and Suzie Wong respectively.

Hokkien Chan is scheduled to open this week, while Suzie Wong will reopen on 13 November. Sri Thai City and Sri Nam are both scheduled to close at the end of this month and reopen in mid-November after refurbishment.

Imperial City, which was originally opened by Ken Hom in 1993, will close in January for its makeover, which will add new floors, a bar and reception area.
