Critic finds former Michelin-star-holder Mason's new venture ‘hit and miss'
The Daily Telegraph's Jasper Gerard worries if Anna Hansen's new restaurant, which he likes, will survive the meltdown in the City.
The Independent's John Walsh visits the new venture from former Orrery head chef Tristan Mason. He finds the new Michelin-star-chasing restaurant in Horsham, West Sussex, rather "hit and miss" with a menu burdened by "floury experiments", "acidic vegetables" and lacklustre service.
Critic Jan Moir renames Searcys' new St Pancras Grand restaurant, "St Pancreas Bland" after a visit.
And AA Gill fires a broadside at restaurant guide publishers saying "guides are a curse and a bane on hospitality" in his weekly column in The Times. Gill has harsh words for Zagat and Harden's amongst the publishers and few kind words for Andaman, the new restaurant at the refurbished St James's Hotel & Club in the capital.
